Theoretical and photographic work ongoing.
In this body of work I'm looking at exploring compositions and connections accross borders: national, political, identity.
Pushing towards abstraction raises questions of solidarity and justice. What can we hope for and how do we create resistance and change in an unequal world? Land/scapes are experienced differently: working in harsh and underpaid conditions, experiencing racist hostility, colonised, coloniser, going for a walk on a Sunday, finding there a place free of heteronormative judgment, to give some examples.
While there is potential hope in abstraction and connection, there is also the risk of decontextualisation and depoliticisation which can weaken movements for change.
Compositions from France, Mexico, Belgium, US.
